Solid and industrial waste

Today waste is not just wasted. There are more and stricter regulations when it comes to disposal of solid waste and there is an increasing preference for recycling. This influences treatment facilities as well as disposal sites and involves evaluation and mapping of potential environmental risks.

We develop tests and methods designed to determine solute leaching from waste products and soil – and have years of experience doing so. This includes all types of residues from coal-firing power plants and waste incineration facilities, numerous types of industrial residues, mine and construction waste, different sludge types and compost.

Compliance with regulations and risk evaluations which are properly substantiated require through knowledge when it comes to designing the necessary tests and sampling procedures. Correct gathering of data describing the surrounding and situation is vital and. The data is used by our computational models to predict the development over time and ensure that disposed residuals don't leach into the groundwater or otherwise threaten the environment. These models are also used to trace back the source of contaminations.
