MIKE by DHI Seminar and Training Course in Peru

18 Nov 2009

Greeted with smiles and readiness to serve Teresa T. de Becerra and her staff at the Real Audiencia - Centro de Convenciones in Lima made the perfect frame for this 2nd seminar in Peru held on the 12 November. In the weeks up to the seminar our local agent Cesar Rodriguez Buendia and his staff at Lahmeyer Agua y Energia gathered, through a targeted mail and web campaign, some fifty registrations from governmental institutions, plc’s, consultants, contractors and universities. The management of water resources and water quality of inland and coastal waters were of special interest.

Some twenty participants joined the introduction course in MIKE BASIN instructed by Alejandro Lasarte from the DHI Brasil office. A pronounced interest for managing water resources on a basin scale level is present in Peru. For hydropower, irrigation, water supply and water quality assessment. Stakeholders representing many different water uses participated with the overall purpose to optimise the use of water.
