During the week of March 9-13, DHI China hosted the largest MIKE 21 training course ever with 90 trainees. This is a brief report from this event translated from DHI China’s webpage.
The First Day of MIKE Software Training (2009. March 9th):
On March 9th, 2009, DHI Mike Software Training Course started successfully in Chang Hang Hotel in Shanghai. The course is scheduled for 5 days. Being the largest one since the establishment of DHI China, this training course has attracted 90 trainees. The five days of training includes a two-day basic training which is mainly about MIKE 21 PP & HD and a three-day professional training which will divide the trainees into four smaller classes (Water Environment class, Mud and Sand class, Wave class and Urban Flood class). During the training, people from scientific research institutions, design companies and universities will learn about the 2009 version of MIKE by DHI software and will also have a great chance to exchange experiences and make new friends.
Figure: With the help of the trainees, Senior Hydrodynamic Engineer Mr. Jixuan Li and Mr. Zhenhua Pan, the trainers of basic class are teaching the operation of MIKE 21 PP & HD version 2009.
The Second Day of MIKE Software Training (2009. March 10th):
Our senior hydrodynamic engineers Mr. Jixuan Li and Mr. Zhenhua Pan offered an excellent and detailed lecture on MIKE 21 PP & HD. They are assisted by a large number of assistant trainers and the large room is crowded – not a single vacant seat can be found. Every trainee is supported by our assistant-engineers, who show great patience and efforts through the whole process. The trainees will be separated to four professional classes from tomorrow (March 11th). As mentioned yesterday, the four classes are Water Environment class, Mud and Sand class, Wave class and Urban Flood class.
The Fifth Day of MIKE Software Training (2009. March 13th):
The five-day Mike software training is coming to a happy ending today. All trainees from the Water Environment class, Mud and Sand class, Wave class and Urban Flood class have learned a lot during the training course. No matter how different the fields they study, the trainees communicate very well, and we believe that they have all gained much more than just some software skills. Last but not least, we would like to express our great appreciation to all participants for their support to the staff of DHI China. If you have any problem at using the software or have any ideas and advice for improvements, please tell us at any time. You can E-mail us at: sos-cn@dhigroup.com
