The Global Water Partnership (GWP) holds an important series of meetings in Stockholm 11 –19 August, 2000, linked to the Stockholm Water Symposium 14-17 August. The meetings will chart out the course of GWP after the World Water Forum in The Hague in March, 2000 (see DHI news item "making water everybody’s business") under the overall leadership of a new Chairperson to be elected in Stockholm as successor to GWP’s first Chair Mr. Ismail Serageldin..
GWP’s important role in creating operational programmes within Integrated Water Resources Management, and forging links between the programmes and the donors, will also be pursued in Stockholm. The technical leadership of the GWP is the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), chaired by Dr Torkil Jønch-Clausen, previously Managing Director of VKI, now a part time Director at DHI Water & Environment. DHI is providing professional and secretarial support to TAC in the development of approaches and operational programmes to assist countries in the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management.
